چکیده

Evapotranspiration (ET) is a key variable in the hydrological cycle and it directly impacts surface balance its accurate assessment essential for correct water management. ET difficult to measure, since existing methods direct estimate, such as weighing lysimeter or eddy-covariance system, are often expensive require well-trained research personnel. To overcome this limit, different authors developed experimental models indirect estimation of ET. However, accuracy prediction crucial from points view, continuous search more precise modeling approaches encouraged. In light this, aim present work test efficiency predicting fluxes newly introduced physical-based model, named Prospero, which based on ability compute using multi-layer canopy solving energy both sunlight shadow vegetation, extending recently Schymanski Or method level. Additionally, Prospero able actual Jarvis-like model. The model integrated component modelling system GEOframe. Its estimates were validated against observed data five Eddy covariance (EC) sites with climatic conditions same vegetation cover. Then, performances compared those two already consolidated models, Priestley–Taylor Penman FAO four goodness-of-fit indices. Subsequently calibration three has been carried out LUCA within GEOframe, purpose errors. results showed that respect other even if no calibrations performed, better dry conditions. addition, turned be least affected by procedure and, therefore, can effectively also used context scarcity.

Validation and Application of the Modified Satellite-Based Priestley-Taylor Algorithm for Mapping Terrestrial Evapotranspiration

Satellite-based vegetation indices (VIs) and Apparent Thermal Inertia (ATI) derived from temperature change provide valuable information for estimating evapotranspiration (LE) and detecting the onset and severity of drought. The modified satellite-based Priestley-Taylor (MS-PT) algorithm that we developed earlier, coupling both VI and ATI, is validated based on observed data from 40 flux towers...

Comparison of Estimates Using Record Statistics from Lomax Model: Bayesian and Non Bayesian Approaches

This paper address the problem of Bayesian estimation of the parameters, reliability and hazard function in the context of record statistics values from the two-parameter Lomax distribution. The ML and the Bayes estimates based on records are derived for the two unknown parameters and the survival time parameters, reliability and hazard functions. The Bayes estimates are obtained based on conju...

Satellite-Based Method for Estimating the Spatial Distribution of Crop Evapotranspiration: Sensitivity to the Priestley-Taylor Coefficient

This work discusses an operational method for actual evapotranspiration (ET) retrieval from remote sensing, considering a minimum quantity of ancillary data. The method consists in a graphical approach based on the Priestley-Taylor (PT) equation, where the dry soil and non-limiting water conditions are defined by land surface temperature (LST) and vegetation index (VI) space, both retrieved fro...

The Impact of Seawater Salinity on Evapotranspiration and Plant Growth Under Different Meteorological Conditions

Conventional water resources of good quality are scarce especially in arid and semiarid regions. The salinization of soils and water places is a substantial constraint of crop productivity. The mixed application of fresh water along with seawater is becoming a common practice by the farmers near sea sides in the developing countries. Seawaters contain beneficial nutrients that can be useful for...

Comparing Smart Cities with different modeling approaches

Smart cities have attracted an extensive and increasing interest from both science and industry with an increasing number of international examples emerging from across the world. However, despite the significant role that smart cities can play to deal with recent urban challenges, the concept has been criticized for being influenced by vendor hype. There are various attempts to conceptualize s...
